Dudu Mobile Integrates Web2SMS Solutions Via Interswitch

May 2, 2008

Dudu Mobile is a web consulting startup offering mobile solutions to corporate and consumer users in Nigeria and beyond. The company offers the latest smart messaging tools of customized Alphanumeric originator, Flash Messages, Mobile Ringtones, Picture Messages, Logos for enriching the mobile marketing and messaging. You can also download games and ringtones from the site.

Some of their solutions include: Corporate messaging, Interactive messaging, Web2SMS, Business mobility, Mobile marketing, Nollywood promotion tool – Movies/Music Albums, Web/Wap Site Design, Mobile Security Solutions, VSAT and more.

The site recently integrated Interswitch ATM purchase payments which allows users to pay for SMS conveniently using ATM cards of any of the 25 Nigerian banks. To use the Web2SMS service, you need to be a registered Web2SMS user. You can then buy SMS credits and send your messages via the web. I actually did register (though with the hope of getting bonus or free credits for SMSs;-), but was told I have 0 credits. Hmm, what’s the customer incentive for my time?

Update: An email was later sent to me saying: “3 credits was assigned to you today”. I look forward to more:-)

However, there are other Web2SMS solutions sites such as Yakoon, Web2SMSPro and many others that offer similar services in Nigeria. The thing is that, these sites would need to come up with customer incentives and promotional plans to remain competitive in this overly saturated market.

On the flip side, I’m looking forward to seeing a Nigerian developed widget or application that allows social networkers to connect with each other via real live phones by installing the widget on their profiles or blogs.
